The Temporary Certificate program ends on December 31, 2023, in accordance with provincial legislation. Applications for Temporary Certificates closed on August 15, 2023. Eligible teacher candidates who were interested in applying for a Temporary Certificate should instead apply for a Transitional Certificate when applications open on August 30, 2023.

Does the Temporary Certificate allow a teacher candidate to teach in all divisions or are there restrictions?

The Temporary Certificate will reflect the same qualifications (areas of study) as part of your teacher education program. Teaching assignments are handled by the Ministry of Education.
