Can I teach before the College certifies me?

You must be a member in good standing with the College to teach in Ontario’s publicly funded schools.

The Ministry of Education may, on an emergency basis, grant a letter of permission to an individual at the request of a school board. A letter of permission enables you to temporarily teach in Ontario’s publicly funded schools without a license. You can contact the Ministry directly for more information.
