How long does it take to be issued a certification decision?

Certification timelines vary, but in general:

Ontario applicants

Applicants who completed their teacher education program in Ontario will receive a certification decision once all required documents and fees are received and processed.

Canadian certified teachers

Teachers who are licensed to teach in another Canadian province or territory are eligible to apply to the College under the Ontario Labour Mobility Act (OLMA). OLMA applicants will receive their certification decision within 30 calendar days of the College receiving a completed application, including all applicable fees.

Internationally Educated Teachers

If you applied on or after January 1, 2024, the College will issue a decision within 60 business days of receiving your complete application.

If you applied before January 1, 2024, the College aims to issue a decision within 120 calendar days of receiving your complete application.
