What if a member can’t attend their hearing on the scheduled date?
Members who cannot attend their hearing on a specified date should advise the Tribunals’ Office (by sending an email to tribunals@oct.ca) and College Counsel as soon as possible.
If College Counsel agrees to reschedule the hearing to a later date (i.e., consents to an adjournment), the parties can submit a completed Form 14A (Consent Adjournment) to the Tribunals’ Office and new dates will be scheduled for the hearing.
If College Counsel does not consent to an adjournment, the member must file a Motion for Adjournment, and the panel will decide whether the hearing should be rescheduled.
