How can a member arrange for their witnesses to speak at the hearing?
If a member wishes to call witnesses to testify at the hearing, they should confirm with the Tribunals’ Office at least five business days before the hearing date by sending an email to tribunals@oct.ca. The member should include:
- the witnesses' names
- the order in which they will call their witnesses
- the time each witness will join the hearing, and
- how they intend to put documents or materials before the witness (i.e., through screen sharing, file transfer, or email)
Since hearings are held via Zoom, the member must provide the names and contact details to the Tribunals’ Office so that staff can contact the witnesses for a technology set up before to the hearing.
If a witness is unwilling to testify, a member can request that the witness be ordered to appear (summoned) by completing and returning to the Tribunals’ Office one of the following forms:
Once the submitted summons form is signed by the College Registrar, it will be returned to the member so that they can send the summons to the relevant witness.
