What happens to a member’s Tribunal hearing if they have also been charged criminally?
Typically, if a member has been charged criminally for the same acts that could be professional misconduct, the Tribunal will not hold a hearing until the member’s criminal case has concluded. Information about the member’s criminal proceeding (current or previous) will be posted on the public register of the College as required by section 23(2) of the Ontario College of Teachers Act.
