Do members need to retain a lawyer for their hearing?
No, a member does not need to retain a lawyer and can be self-represented. If the member chooses to represent themselves, they can consult the FAQ resources and Checklists for Self-Represented Members for more information about the hearing process. Tribunals staff and Independent Legal Counsel cannot provide legal advice to members.
