What is a prescribed sexual act?
Prescribed sexual acts are criminal offences under Canada’s Criminal Code. They include:
- sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, sexual exploitation, and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability
- bestiality
- voyeurism, the publication of an intimate image without consent, sexual activity procured by a parent or guardian, making sexually explicit material available to a child, and luring or making an agreement or arrangement to meet a child
- a sexual offence against a child, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, threats to a third party or causing bodily harm, and aggravated sexual assault
- obtaining sexual services for consideration and obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years.
