How is the scholarship awarded?
The candidate must demonstrate both outstanding academic achievement (based on cumulative GPA of completed undergraduate degrees and/or diplomas) and experience that reflects a high level of preparedness for teacher education. The primary selection criteria for this scholarship is your GPA. Background and experience relevant to the teaching profession might include:
- teaching of art, music or dance in community centers
- assisting in a classroom
- coaching sports
- teaching literacy, ESL or other second or third languages
- working as a museum instructor or guide working as a camp counsellor or with those having special needs
- volunteer service in a community setting.
