Can I keep my teaching certificate if I don’t complete the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program?
If you do not complete the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program by the deadline noted in your online College account, your certificate will be administratively suspended.
If your certificate is administratively suspended, you cannot teach in Ontario’s publicly funded education system until you reinstate your membership to good standing by successfully completing the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program and paying the reinstatement fee.
If you have not paid your annual membership fee (AMF) for the current calendar year, you will also be required to pay your AMF before your certificate can be reinstated to good standing.
Support and accommodations are available to Ontario Certified Teachers and applicants who may need them. To learn more about available options, contact the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.
