Can I keep my licence to teach if I don’t complete the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program?
Ontario Certified Teachers whose Sexual Abuse Prevention Program status was “Incomplete” at 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, were administratively suspended.
Individuals who are administratively suspended cannot teach in Ontario’s publicly funded education system until they restore their licence to good standing. They can restore their licence to good standing by successfully completing the Sexual Abuse Prevention Program and paying the reinstatement fee. Anyone who has not paid their annual membership fee (AMF) for the current calendar year will also be required to pay the AMF before their licence can be restored to good standing.
Support and accommodations are available to OCTs who may need them. To learn more about available options, please contact the Canadian Centre for Child Protection via their website at protectchildren.ca.
