Why aren’t internationally trained teacher candidates eligible for the new certificates?

Provincial legislation only provides the College with the authority to grant Transitional Certificates to teacher candidates who are enrolled in accredited Ontario teacher education programs or hold a transitional certificate from another Canadian province or territory.
