How can the public be assured that Transitional Certificate holders are sufficiently qualified to teach?
The College’s mandate is to serve the public interest by protecting the interests and well-being of students by prioritizing teacher quality over teacher quantity. As with all applications, individuals who request a Transitional Certificate will be subject to a thorough evaluation process that includes an assessment of academic and professional credentials as well as professional suitability. Transitional Certificates will only be issued to teacher candidates who have successfully completed at least 30 credits and 40 practicum days of their initial teacher education program.
